What is the Embroidery Design Toolkit? The Embroidery Design Toolkit is a browser-based suite of professional tools for preparing artwork for embroidery production. It combines color reduction, stitch estimation, design validation, and image conversion — all without uploading files to a server.

Tools included:

  • Color Reducer — Maps image colors to the nearest production thread palette (up to 6 thread colors)
  • Stitch Estimator — Calculates fill, satin, and running stitch counts with production time and thread usage per color
  • Design Validator — Checks your design against 11 embroidery production rules with a readiness score and fix suggestions
  • Image Converter — Full pipeline: posterize colors, remove gradients, map to thread palette, and enforce minimum detail sizes
